Halloween poems and other stories

Halloween, Halloween, Halloween!

Darkness reigns
and the zombies,
the wild cats
and the vampires
crawl out
from their hiding place.

Darkness reigns
and the bats,
the witches,
and the ghosts
fly out
from their cursed caves.

Darkness reigns
and the zombies, the cats, the dead
the bats, the witches and the ghosts
find blood to pump and  energize
into their weak bodies.

But light from the pumpkin
and from the lantern of O` Jack
break  through the darkness
giving way for light
to shine in darkness.

Halloween in the Deep Night

Festival in the deep night
Parade of colours and masks
Time to dwell in darkness
And what it can bring to life.

It is time in the year when
People pose in disguise,
playing the role of the good
the bad, the sinners and saints.

Let us celebrate this night
of Halloween in fear and delight
Let us pose in disguise and see
Ourselves behind our own masks.

I think I should also spend time writing poems in Danish. For quite a period of time, I have only concentrated on writing poems in English.

Kære Elizabeth - du rørte mig med din tekst om at overleve gennem kunsten. Jeg kender det selv som en delvis fremmed med udenlandsk opvækst. Vi ses i Simonpete
